28 weeks - 3rd trimester:)

Can you believe we are 2/3 of the way done with this pregnancy? I sure cannot!  I can remember just finding out we were pregnant and thinking the 3rd trimester seemed so far away!  But it has come so quickly!  12 weeks seems like a long time, but knowing that in 12 weeks we will have a precious little baby to hold in our arms and take care of, it doesn't seem all that far away!  And it seems so scary!  We are so so so thrilled and blessed to have this child on the way but we must be honest, we are terrified!  We just spend a night last week at Target & Babies R Us updating our baby registry asking why you use baby powder and baby oil and do we need it.  We have no idea what we are doing, as most first time parents always feel.

I had my one hour glucose test and 28 week check up on Friday.  The fruit punch drink stuff really wasn't all that bad.  I will know results this week.  I hope that I passed because I had to eat something right before going back because I got too hungry.  Then I went to see the doctor for the check up during my hour wait.  My blood pressure and weight gain checked out okay.  I have slowed down on gaining weight so that made me happy.  The heart beat sounded so strong!  I love hearing that sound.  Can't get enough of it:)  I am not sure what the heart rate was because as the doctor and I were listening to the heart beat, the baby kicked the doppler machine.  I laughed so hard that I forgot to ask what the heart rate was.  This baby must have been all sugared up because it was extremely active for a little while after that.  Everything is looking good.  I go back in another 4 weeks for my 32week check up.

Not much else to report here:)  We are celebrating our one year wedding anniversary a week from today.  I can't believe it is here already!  Please continue to keep me and Baby E in your prayers.  And all other expecting mother's and babies, too.

28 weeks

And 27 weeks since I didn't post this last week!

Lots of love,

27 weeks && How I met my husband:)

Hello 27 Weeks!  This is the last week of the 2nd trimester!  Next week begins the end of the journey of my first pregnancy!  I can't believe this is 2/3 of the way over already!  This week has brought some amazing movement with the baby!  It was very active early on this week and we are feeling and seeing so much movement!  It is just amazing to me to see and feel this little miracle.  Besides some minor aches and pains, this week has been good.  It was a cooler week so the weather didn't seem to bother me much.  This week is supposed to be in the 80's and humid!  I go to the doctor this Friday for my 28 week check up and 1 hour glucose test so I'll have an update next week!  Tomorrow (June 20)  Ryan and I will celebrate our 3 year dating anniversary!  This date is very special to us and changed our lives forever.  So in honor of that anniversary, I decided to tell you how we met:)  Enjoy this little love story and we'll see you next week!

So with every relationship, everyone asks, "So, how did you two meet?"  Such a good question that we aren't exactly sure about:)  Ryan and I met in 2001 through mutual friends Justin, Kirk, and Michelle.  We have no idea what day it was, where we were at, or what we were doing.  Good story, huh!?:)  We do remember events that we were at together.  Like my graduation party in 2003.  Okay, so we didn't really remember this but when my cousin Laurie was going through pictures at her house ((because she thought she remembered meeting Ryan previously)), we came across these two pictures.  See the tall skinny man on the left.  Yes that is Ryan:)  Hasn't changed much, has he!?

Here we were at one of our many trips to Steak N' Shake followed by a trip to Meijer in 2001.

We do, however, remember how we re-met in June 2008.  June 20th to be exact.  A few weeks earlier I was driving to my parking lot downtown Indianapolis for work at 8:00 a.m. and *thought* I saw Ryan walking down Pennsylvania St.  I took about three glances because I hadn't seen him in a few years and couldn't believe, if it really was him, that it really was him(make sense?:)).  I thought he lived in Indy but thought it couldn't have been him; there is no way out of all the people living in Indy, downtown, at 8:00 a.m., I see him out of the corner of my eye walking while I'm driving. Do you believe in fate yet:)  So of course, I went on my way to work and later that week, I jumped on the oh so popular social networking site Facebook and left a message on Ryan's wall.  After we exchanged a few messages and realized we worked about a half of mile from each other, we decided to meet up for a drink.  Both of us were thinking it would be one of those "Call me", "Let's grab drinks" etc. and then it would never happen.  But I called him and made plans for Friday, June 20th, 2008 to meet up for a drink at Howl at the Moon.

We met up that Friday evening for an hour or two and the conversation couldn't have gone any better.  I had a huge grin on my face the entire time, and truth be told, I didn't want to leave but had to because I had a previous commitment.  Before I left, I made Ryan pinky swear we would hang out again.  Dorky, yes, I know, but it obviously charmed him because that Sunday he texted me asking me to come over to watch a movie.  This followed by lunch on the circle on Monday and pizza and a movie at his house on Tuesday evening.  During this time, I couldn't quite figure out if we were just friends hanging out or if this was going to be the beginning of something.  I wasn't quite sure what I was thinking and I most certainly had no idea what he was thinking.  I just knew I had so much fun being with him no matter what we did, but this wasn't anything I didn't already knew since I had always loved hanging out with Justin, Kirk, and Ryan while in high school.

So then Ryan got up the courage to ask me out on Tuesday evening before we started to watch a movie on our first official date.  I of course said yes and he began planning the best first date a girl could ask for.  He first, knowing my picky-ness, sent me menus for 10 local restaurants so I could give him an idea of a few restaurants I would eat at and then he chose the restaurant off my list, and could still surprise me that evening.  So on Saturday, June 28, 2008, he took me to Weber Grill, took me on a walk on the canal, and then we went to the Greenwood fireworks where he set up a blanket, bottle of wine, and music and we watched the fireworks and talked for hours.  From then on, we were pretty much inseparable.  A fun little fact - exactly one year later after this first official date, Ryan asked me to be his wife!  He didn't even plan it that way but it worked out perfectly.  Another fun little fact - July 3 was the day we "officially" said we were a couple ... and 2 years later we got married on that date.  Cheesy, I know:)

So here we are 3 years after we first re-met and things couldn't be any better.  Every day is always so much fun.  On many occasions I find myself crying I'm laughing so hard.  I constantly feel loved and safe when I am with him.  He was a wonderful boyfriend & fiance, and he has proved to be the best husband I could have ever dreamed of.  I know that he will make a great daddy, too.
Our first official date:)

Anniversary Love,

26 weeks

26 weeks is here! Can you believe it? I sure as heck can't!  It floors me to think that we only have 14 weeks to go!  I just returned from my cousin Josh's wedding and we had so much fun!  I survived the 8-10 hours in the car and requested to pee much less than I and everyone else thought! :)  It was so fun hanging with family and being there for their special day.  This time of year just makes me smile.

For those of you that know my love for countdowns, we have a lot right now!  There are only 7 days until Ryan and my 3 year dating anniversary, 15 days until the anniversary of when he proposed to me, 20 days until our 1st wedding anniversary, and 97 days until the little peanut is due!  Time has flown by so much and I just can't believe how quickly this year has gone!  Ryan and I are going to the Ray LaMontagne concert tomorrow night as part of our anniversary present to ourselves!  I'm so excited!  We are planning to go to dinner, have some cake, and see some fireworks on July 3.  We have a wedding on the 2nd to go to so it will be a fun weekend!  We won't be eating our cake topper because we already did last September.  We didn't have it vacuum sealed and it was just in the freezer and in September didn't taste so good.  It tasted a lot like 'freezer' so I asked our wonderful cake maker Suzie to make us a small little anniversary cake so we will have some cake on our anniversary.  It is tradition and I'm pregnant and Suzie's cakes are AWESOME!:)

26 weeks

Well I hope you all are doing well and keep praying for Baby E!

Baby love!

24 && 25 Weeks

Hello Summer!  And Hello Heat!  I have been longing for this warmer weather and now that it is hear, I find myself sweating like crazy and miserable *some* days.  Not every day, but some.  And I just keep telling myself to enjoy this because this is one of my favorite times of year.  I strongly dislike being cold and much more enjoy being warm.  But having this human being attached to me for the rest of the summer is going to prove to be HOT!  BUT it is all in the name of love, I guess!

I apologize for the lack of post for 24 weeks.  With the long weekend, we didn't get back to Indy until late and I was busy working on school assignments and the week got away from me.  And now here we are on Tuesday and I still haven't posted this dang thing:)  The baby has been extremely active lately.  I can't figure out if it is kick boxing or just shifting around in there.  Sometimes it looks like my belly is spasming!  The baby is now starting to answer back when you push a little on my belly so Ryan has been having fun with that.  I think this baby is a morning person just like its mommy.  Anywhere from 4am-6am the baby is just kicking away!  Now I love waking up early, but not 4am early!

It is amazing to reflect on how much has changed since I have gotten pregnant, and how much continues to change with each week.  Tums have now become a part of my nightly routine.  I have been fighting some major acid reflux/heartburn when I lay down for bed.  So per suggestion of a friend and from my doctor, I take some antacid tablets before bed and that seems to help.  I know sleep with more pillows that we even have room for on our bed! Poor Ryan gets a small portion of the bed (like 1/4) because me, my belly, and my pillows have taken over!  I sleep with one body pillow along my back to prop me up, two under my head, one in between my knees, and one underneath my belly.  The one underneath my belly has really helped with my hip/butt pain!  I am so glad to have some solution to that pain!  15 more weeks of that is going to be killer!

Other than that, I have just been trying to stay cool with this weather!  I am hoping I can stay cool this summer!  Hope you all have a great week!  I'm off to celebrate the wedding of my cousin Josh and his fiance Charlotte!  Congrats to you two!

Summer Love,

Liz & Baby E
